I was born in Port au Prince in 1984. right before Duvalier left Haiti, right before la bamboche démocratique. I remember a party growing up, people always acting crazy around me. A man shot a machine gun infront of me. . .

I was barely 1 year old.

The exciment of nearing the end of almost 29 years of dictatorship was intoxicating. And even as babies we felt it. Extreme emotions,

I saw and felt them all before I even knew how to speak.

This is what needs to come out. Sometimes I try to clean it up, and sometimes I just leave it raw.
